Lean Muscle Mass Assessment
Lean mass is important because it helps you stay healthy and fit by improving muscle strength, speed and endurance. In addition, having a high percentage of lean mass makes your bones stronger. Muscle burns more calories than fat does, so the more lean muscle mass you have, the faster your metabolism will be. This can help lead to quicker weight loss or prevent further weight gain if it's not already reached its goal level of leanness.
Visceral Fat Assessment
Visceral fat is a type of fat that accumulates deep within the abdominal cavity, surrounding organs such as the liver, pancreas and intestines. It's different from subcutaneous fat, which lies just under the skin and can be easily seen. Visceral fat is metabolically active and may promote inflammation—which may increase your risk for heart disease. It's also associated with increased risk for type 2 diabetes, obesity and cancer.
Total Body Wellness
Most diet and fitness goals focus on weight loss or gain, overlooking that two people of the same sex and body weight may look completely different from each other because they have different body compositions. Measuring your body composition will tell you your own body’s unique makeup and help you identify areas to work on to improve your overall health and wellness.
Highly Accurate, State of the Art Technology
InBody Body Composition analyzers use advanced technology to measure your total body water (TBW), bone mineral content (BMC) and total body carbon dioxide content (TBCC). Then using a proprietary algorithm developed at Harvard University's Nutrition Department, we calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI), percent body fat (%BF), visceral fat level (%VFAT) as well as subcutaneous abdominal fat level (%SUBFAT).
How does InBody work?
The InBody device is a handheld, non-invasive technology that allows you to measure your body composition, hydration level, and pulse rate in only seconds. The InBody scale uses advanced algorithms and biomarkers to accurately determine these important factors.
How does InBody differ from a scale?
Rather than a scale that just determines your weight, the InBody measures body composition and provides an accurate estimation of your body mass index (BMI), percentage of visceral fat, and percentage of lean muscle mass.
How long does it take to see InBody results?
InBody tests offer fast and accurate results. You can get your results in less than 5 minutes, so you can get back to your day without a long wait. And because all of the data is saved automatically and securely in the cloud, you can share it with your doctor anytime—even when they are out of office.
You can also share your data with your trainer or nutritionist through the InBody app if you want their feedback on what areas need improvement and how long it will take to reach those goals.
