Lean Muscle Mass Assessment

Lean mass is important because it helps you stay healthy and fit by improving muscle strength, speed and endurance. In addition, having a high percentage of lean mass makes your bones stronger. Muscle burns more calories than fat does, so the more lean muscle mass you have, the faster your metabolism will be. This can help lead to quicker weight loss or prevent further weight gain if it's not already reached its goal level of leanness.

Visceral Fat Assessment

Visceral fat is a type of fat that accumulates deep within the abdominal cavity, surrounding organs such as the liver, pancreas and intestines. It's different from subcutaneous fat, which lies just under the skin and can be easily seen. Visceral fat is metabolically active and may promote inflammation—which may increase your risk for heart disease. It's also associated with increased risk for type 2 diabetes, obesity and cancer.

Total Body Wellness

Most diet and fitness goals focus on weight loss or gain, overlooking that two people of the same sex and body weight may look completely different from each other because they have different body compositions. Measuring your body composition will tell you your own body’s unique makeup and help you identify areas to work on to improve your overall health and wellness.

Highly Accurate, State of the Art Technology

InBody Body Composition analyzers use advanced technology to measure your total body water (TBW), bone mineral content (BMC) and total body carbon dioxide content (TBCC). Then using a proprietary algorithm developed at Harvard University's Nutrition Department, we calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI), percent body fat (%BF), visceral fat level (%VFAT) as well as subcutaneous abdominal fat level (%SUBFAT).
