IV Lounge Women’s Hormone Panel
Tests Include: CMP, F&T Testosterone, Estradiol, DHEA-S, FSH, LH, Prolactin, Insulin, SHBG, Progesterone
The IV Lounge Women’s Hormone Panel includes CMP (our broad screening test used to evaluate liver and kidney function in addition to electrolyte balance), DHEA-S, and insulin testing. In addition to these general tests, we customized this panel to suit the needs of women. Although we often associate the hormone Testosterone with men, it plays an important role in the women’s body and small amounts are produced by the ovaries. Testosterone levels in women are tested to evaluate virilization.
Estradiol, commonly known as E2, is the most active of the estrogens. For women, it is important to look at the relationship between estradiol and progesterone in evaluating menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, mood disorders, and common symptoms of aging. Progesterone balances and offsets the effects of estrogen. It is important progesterone levels are addressed in women as well for these reasons.
